The Most Anticipated Movies of 2026

In December 2021, everyone in the theater was crying as our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man lost his aunt and ultimately lost everyone he ever loved by choosing to erase himself from everybody’s memory to save the world. As I walked out of the theater overwhelmed by the movie, I started anticipating what would happen to Spider-Man in the next movie.

However since then, most of the marvel sequels have been but a disappointment, leaving moviegoers holding out for the next release of the unfailing franchise series, Spider-Man and The Avengers. Finally, in 2026, roughly five years since the release of <<No Way Home>>, two of Marvel’s most anticipated releases – <<Spiderman: Brand New Day>> and <<Avengers: Doom’s Day>> — are announced to arrive in theaters this July and December, respectively.

Personally, <<Spider-Man: Brand New Day>> may be the most anticipated. For many fans, including myself, Spider-Man starring Tom Holland was their introduction to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. At first glance, the story follows a superhero cliché with the protagonist consistently showing up to save the world from disasters. However, what makes Spider-Man stand out is the emotional depth behind all the strong action. Along with Marvel’s signature blend of fun details, iconic soundtrack and engaging storyline, the series explores the theme of personal sacrifices that come with being a hero. But while Spider-Man may be garnering the most excitement among fans, it is still only one of many major films set to hit the theaters this year.
